Teams will be sent to inspect the work of rule of law at the city and county level in eight provinces, according to the office of the Communist Party of China Central Commission for comprehensively governing the country by law.

The inspection teams will go to the provinces of Shanxi, Liaoning, Jiangsu, Fujian, Henan, Hebei, Guizhou and Yunnan, and each team will contain officials from the central department to the grassroots department, deputies to the National People's Congress, scholars, lawyers and journalists.

There are still weak links in the rule of law at the grassroots level. Some places have no institutions for promoting rule of law and some places don't have enough staff members to do the job. Therefore, how to ensure that the work of rule of law is under proper management with sufficient human resources is a critical part of the inspection, said an official with the Bureau of Rule of Law Supervision of Ministry of Justice.

The inspection team will listen to reports, carry out field visits, inquire about case files, meet with leading cadres, interview private entrepreneurs and grassroots cadres and the masses, and investigate openly and secretly during the inspection period to promote the implementation of the central government‘s decision and deployment of the comprehensive rule of law in local areas.
