Edinburgh 'facing embarrassment' over litter

chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2022-08-24 21:17

Cleansing staff working for Edinburgh City Council who began a strike on Aug 18 that is set to continue until Aug 30 in a dispute over pay have left mountains of filth piling up in the city center.

Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole Hamilton said: "August is perhaps the most important month in Edinburgh's calendar. This situation risks jeopardizing the capital's reputation among festival visitors from across the UK and the world."

And Edinburgh council has urged people to take their litter home with them if possible.
