UAE embassy celebrates Emirati Women's Day

To celebrate Emirati Women's Day, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Beijing and Tencent Music Entertainment co-hosted an event, commending the achievements and contributions made by Emirati women to the greater welfare of their country.

This year, the selected theme of Emirati Women's Day is "Inspiring Reality, Sustainable Future", which highlights the country's journey in the area of women's empowerment.

The achievements attained by the UAE over the past 50 years have always prominently featured Emirati women.

In 2022, Emirati women continue to consistently demonstrate capabilities and competencies that qualify them to lead and manage key and vital projects in the sectors of advanced science, space, energy and health.

The UAE and China have enjoyed nearly four decades of close ties and cooperation.

This close friendship has been underpinned by a shared set of core values and exchanges in various fields, such as culture and arts.

The Arabic Arts Festival is a significant cultural event under the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, and a manifestation of this close relationship.

This year's Arabic Arts Festival, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Beijing teams up with Tencent Music Entertainment, launching a themed online event in celebration of both women and China-Arab friendship.

A playlist entitled "Happy Emirati Women's Day: We Sing for Her", including Emirati and Chinese female artists, has been organized on QQ Music to celebrate Emirati Women's Day and reflect what inspires Emirati women today.

"The UAE is grateful to Emirati women for their numerous contributions to the country. They have been an integral part in the most prominent achievements of the UAE throughout our past, attesting to the indispensable role they play in various fields." stated Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, UAE ambassador to China.

Over the past 50 years, the UAE has endeavored to empower its women and girls through various landmark initiatives and laws.

In a historic milestone, the UAE was ranked top in the region on the Gender Equality Index, according to the United Nations Development Program's Human Development Report. Going forward, Emirati women will continue to play a pivotal role in ushering in the next 50 years of innovation, prosperity and sustainability.
