Iran says US should stop making additional demands in nuke talks

TEHRAN - Iran said on Tuesday that the United States should stop making additional demands in the talks over reviving the 2015 nuclear deal.

"The talks regarding the agreement are continuing and the other party should stop making additional demands because a constructive path has been taken in the negotiations so far," Ali Bahadri Jahormi, the Iranian government spokesman, told reporters at his weekly press conference.

Jahormi said that the US guarantees for lifting its sanctions, verification of sanctions' removal, and closure of safeguard issues are among Iran's demands in the talks.

He said that Iran insists on the inclusion of its demands in a possible deal, while reiterating that Iran will not leave the nuclear negotiations.

Iran and the US are indirectly exchanging views about a recent EU proposal for resolving the outstanding issues on reviving the 2015 Iranian nuclear pact, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
