China to host WorldSkills Competition in 2026

China will host the WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai in 2026, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security announced on Tuesday.
The members of the WorldSkills organization voted in favour of the bid at the General Assembly on Monday.
Shanghai was scheduled to host the 46th WorldSkills Competition in 2021, but postponed it to 2022 due to the COVID-19 epidemic. The competition was announced, in June, to be canceled by WorldSkills.
Recognized as the Olympics in the sector of skills, the biennial WorldSkills Competition has been successfully organized for 45 editions. Concerning the cancellation of WorldSkills Shanghai 2022, the organization decided on June 28 that a special edition of 62 competitive events will be held in 15 countries and regions in Asia, Europe and Africa from the middle of September to the late November.
