Plans for a big data research center focused on financial justice were established at the Beijing Financial Court on Wednesday to contribute to China's financial strategy.

"We'll take advantage of the center to study how to use data to prevent financial risks, regulate the market and promote the handling of financial cases," said Cai Huiyong, president of the court.

He added that the center will also help maintain financial stability and security.

On Wednesday, judicial officials from the information department, the No 2 Civil Division of the Supreme People's Court, the country's top court, and the Beijing High People's Court signed an agreement to jointly build the center and improve its relevant research.

Liu Guixiang, a member of the top court's adjudication committee, highlighted the significance of the center, regarding it as a major step in efforts to enhance the building of technology friendly courts in the new era.

While calling for judges to use the center to explore new ways to conduct financial trials in the information age, Liu also asked them to improve the professionalism of financial case handling and boost talent education to provide stronger legal protection for the nation's socioeconomic development.
