Chinese shares surge on Friday

Chinese shares surged on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.43 percent, closing at 3,070.8.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 3.2 percent, closing at 11,187.43.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, surged 3.16 percent to 2,451.22 points.
