Vice-President Wang Qishan on Tuesday called on countries to champion the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind so as to light the way forward amid rising uncertainties and instabilities in global peace and development.

Wang made the remarks via video link in a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Bloomberg New Economy Forum, which is underway from Monday to Thursday in Singapore.

In his speech, Wang called for the implementation of the Global Security Initiative in a bid to make up the deficits in world peace and security as well as achieving long-lasting peace and universal security.

He said efforts should be made to pursue mutual benefits and shared benefits for all by deepening the high-quality Belt and Road Cooperation, and actively pushing the Global Development Initiative to materialize and achieve sound results.

Wang also urged countries to explore a new path of development through advancing innovation in technologies, ideas and systems.

He underlined that the major policies of the Communist Party of China and Chinese government would maintain a high degree of continuity and inject more certainty and stability into the world.

China would continuously deepen high-level opening up and would promote building an open world economy with its benefits shared by all, he said.

China would firmly follow a path of peaceful development, uphold justice, and never seek hegemony or engage in expansionism, he added.
