UK and France sign deal to tackle migrants crossing the English Channel

The agreement includes the UK paying France 72.2m euros ($ 74.5m) towards the cost of patrolling French beaches during 2022 to 2023.
A former British ambassador to France said the deal was a sign that trust between the two countries was returning after relations had hit "rock bottom".
