Cold wave to hit Shanghai

The Shanghai Meteorological Center on Friday issued a blue alert for a cold wave and forecast that the city will experience a big temperature drop of between 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in the coming 48 hours.

The lowest temperature on Sunday and Monday is likely to dip to as low as minus 4 degrees Celsius. The temperatures in the city's suburban areas are expected to be even lower at between minus 6 and minus 4 degrees Celsius.
