The Ministry of Public Security on Monday asked police nationwide to crack down on the illegal production and sale of counterfeit COVID-19 drugs, testing reagents, oxygen generators, blood oxygen meters and other related supplies.

The ministry's Food and Drug Crime Investigation Bureau recently issued a notice urging public security organs to safeguard people's lives and health, continue to uphold epidemic prevention and control measures as they evolve and create a safe environment for people to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.

Police should focus particularly on production, wholesale and retail sales and online trading services for commonly used COVID-19 drugs, testing reagents and related medical supplies and equipment, and promptly file cases for investigation, the notice said.

Task forces should be organized to solve serial, transregional and organized crime cases to resolutely destroy criminal networks, it said.
