Valuable Tibetan archival material selected

A series of wall maps of manthang or Tibetan medicinal thangka paintings created by Tibetan artists between the 17th and the 20th centuries has been successfully inscribed in the fifth Chinese archival document heritage list, China Archives News reported.

The National Archives Administration began the work of selecting the fifth tranche of Chinese archival document heritage at the end of last year, and 55 archival documents were selected, the administration announced.

Starting from 2000, the administration set up the Chinese archival document heritage list. A total of 198 items of valuable archival documents were selected during the past five rounds.
