Two-thirds expect global recession in 2023, Davos survey finds

The 53rd World Economic Forum, or WEF convenes this week at Davos in Switzerland, and runs from Jan 16 to Jan 20, with the theme of cooperation in a fragmented world.

Two-thirds of private and public sector chief economists surveyed by The World Economic Forum, expect a global recession in 2023, event organisers have said.

Ahead of the gathering, 22 responses from a group of senior economists, some 18 percent considered a world recession "extremely likely".
