DUBAI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) put on a laser light show on Sunday night on Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, to celebrate the arrival of the Chinese Lunar New Year.
With the aid of 3D visual effects, the light show on the 828-meter tall tower in Dubai, the UAE's most populous city, features snapshots of flowers and rabbits, China's Zodiac sign for the year 2023. The giant tower also displays new year greetings both in Chinese and English.
Thousands of spectators watched the light show on Sunday.
China is the UAE's largest trading partner. In the first half of 2022, the volume of bilateral trade between China and the UAE reached 46.03 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 46.4 percent over the same period of the previous year, official statistics show.
