Guilin fire still burns as extinguishing efforts continue

A forest fire which started Saturday night is still blazing on Yinkuang mountain in Xing'an county of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, according to local authorities.
The overall situation of the forest fire is still controllable, the Xing'an county government said in a statement on Tuesday.
There have been no reports on the casualties caused by the fire.
After the fire broke out at around 9 pm Saturday, more than 500 firefighters and equipment including helicopters, fire trucks and drones were deployed rapidly to extinguish the flames.
Officials from the Xing'an county government said the fire, which is blazing in remote areas, poses no threat to the safety of Xing'an residents.
According to Nanguo Morning News, a local news outlet, the fire was allegedly caused by a villager surnamed Zhou who was smoking on the mountain while chopping firewood.
