No injuries reported in Guangxi forest fire

A forest fire that broke out on a mountain in Xing'an county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has been extinguished, and no injuries have been reported as of Wednesday morning, according to the Guangxi garrison of the Yunnan Provincial Forest Fire Brigade.
The fire broke out at on mountain in Rongjiang town, Xing'an county, in Guangxi's Guilin at around 9 pm on Saturday.
Local governments drew up an emergency response plan and set up a joint headquarters to organize efforts to put out the fire and protect the lives and properties of residents.
Over 500 people, including firefighters of the Guangxi garrison and staff members from other local emergency response and firefighting teams, were dispatched to tackle the blaze.
A man suspected of causing the fire, surnamed Zhou, was detained on Sunday. A preliminary investigation showed that the 55-year-old, a local villager, was smoking while cutting wood on the mountain, and his cigarette butts allegedly caused the fire. The case is under further investigation.
