More than 10 billion parcels have been collected and delivered across China in the first 39 days of this year, the State Post Bureau of China said on Thursday.

It took 41 days to reach the same figure last year, and 79 days in 2019.

According to the bureau, this demonstrates the vitality, resilience and growth potential of China's express delivery sector, reflecting the growing confidence of consumers, the recovery of the consumer market and the steady pace of economic recovery.

Data also showed that the average daily volume of parcels has exceeded 330 million since the beginning of this month, assisting in the recovery of the consumer market.

The bureau said that during the weeklong Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21 to 27, more than 700 million parcels were handled.
