Fifteen police dogs were awarded by the National Immigration Administration as the first batch of merit dogs and their trainers were given citation for merit class III, Xinhua reported.

These dogs helped seize drugs, hazardous materials and smuggled goods and contributed in the search of criminal suspects, becoming a crucial force to maintain border stability.

In the past five years, police dogs helped crack 780 cases, catch more than 2,600 criminal suspects, seize more than 340 kg of drugs and smuggled goods worth more than 33 million yuan.

Yingkong

Yingkong was assigned to Mangyan border checkpoint under Baoshan border inspection team in Yunnan province with its trainer Jiang Dingzhong in February 2020.

In July 2022, Yingkong found suspected articles within 15 seconds in a 200 square meters place despite continuous distraction from its trainer, setting a record in the team.

As of today, it has helped police seize 73.86 kg of drugs in 4 cases.
