BEIJING -- Hu Yifeng, former president of the Higher People's Court of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and secretary of the court's leading Party members group, has been indicted on charges of taking bribes.

The National Commission of Supervision had concluded its probe into Hu's case.

Following the designation of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Xinzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate of Shanxi province reviewed the case and filed it to the Xinzhou Municipal Intermediate People's Court.

During the process, prosecutors informed the defendant of his litigation rights, interrogated him, and heard the opinions of his defense counsel.

According to the indictment, Hu took advantage of his former positions and power to seek illicit gains for others and accepted a massive amount of money and valuables in return. After leaving his posts, Hu also used his influence to seek illegitimate benefits for others and accepted money and gifts in exchange.

With his acts constituting bribery, Hu shall be subject to criminal accountability according to the law, said the indictment.
