Sri Lanka to welcome Chinese tourists again

Sri Lanka is set to receive its first group of Chinese tourists since the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020 after it and 19 other nations reopened their borders to travelers from China.

The flight carrying these Chinese tourists will depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on March 3. Anura Fernando, the consul general of Sri Lanka, said he hopes to attract more Chinese visitors to experience the natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and colorful activities the tropical island in the Indian Ocean has to offer.
