China's parcel delivery industry handled 20.09 billion parcels as of Wednesday, the State Post Bureau of China said on Thursday.

It took six more days to reach the same figure last year and 72 more days in 2019.

Since the beginning of this year, China aims to boost consumption in a bid to accelerate the economic recovery. The results have been proven in parcel delivery sector.

It took 39 days for the industry to handle 10 billion parcels this year and 28 days for the industry to handle the second 10 billion parcels, showcasing the market's strong resilience and vitality.

China's parcel delivery industry has seen rapid development over the past decade. The parcel volume has increased from 5.6 billion items in 2012 to 110.5 billion items in 2022, an increase of nearly 20 times.
