Two senior Beijing officials have been placed under investigation for suspected violations of Party discipline and state law, according to two statements from the city's Commission for Discipline Inspection and Commission of Supervision published on Monday.

Fan Liangliang, deputy head of the capital's Chaoyang district, was removed from the official website of the district government on Monday afternoon.

Fan was born in Dalian, Liaoning province in August 1979 and joined the CPC in 2005. He used to serve as deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and became Party chief of Huoxian town in Tongzhou district in October 2019. In September of 2021, he was appointed deputy head of the people's government of Chaoyang district.

Separately, Chen Guifen, vice-chairwoman of the Yanqing district committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, was also said to be under investigation.

Chen was born in Yanqing district of Beijing in July 1970 and joined the CPC in 1993. She used to serve as town mayor and Party chief of Kangzhuang town in Yanqing district. She became deputy head of the people's government of the district in May 2019. Chen was elected vice-chairwoman of the Yanqing district committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in December 2021.

Her name was also removed from the district's official website.
