Former Party chief of Yinchuan under investigation

Jiang Zhigang, former Party chief of Yinchuan, capital of the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation after being suspected of seriously violating Party disciplines and national laws, according to a statement issued by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision on Friday.

Born in 1960, Jiang, a native of Jiangsu province, joined the Party in 1986. He worked for the Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Group from 1982 to 1999.

He also served at the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council from May 2003 to May 2013.

From May 2013 to April 2017, Jiang was a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and was also the head of the municipal committee's Organization Department.

In June 2017, he was appointed deputy Party chief of Ningxia and Party chief of Yinchuan.
