Chinese SUV marque Wey now offers a new choice on the menu of its coffee-themed lineup: the flagship Lanshan, or Blue Mountain.
The premium brand of Great Wall Motors launched the six-seat hybrid SUV on Thursday in Beijing to explore the competitive NEV SUV segment in China.
It takes on models including the Li Auto's L9. Li Xiang, founder of the startup, called the L9 the "best SUV priced under 5 million yuan ($730,000)" and was thus ridiculed on the internet for his complacency.
Wey7's Blue Mountain SUV is available in two variants, featuring the marque's dedicated hybrid technology and its latest driving-assist system called Coffee Pilot 2.5.
The DHT technology, which involves a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, enables the model to generate a maximum output of 380 kW and a top torque of 933 Nm.
The Lanshan SUV has an electric range of 180 km, which extends its comprehensive range to over 1,200 km.
Measuring 5,156 mm in length, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/hour in 4.9 seconds and its fuel consumption per 100 km stands at 6.7 liters.
Besides the Blue Mountain, Wey also has models including Latte, Mocha as well as Macchiato.
