Partial solar eclipse to be visible in South China

The first solar eclipse this year will take place around Thursday noon, and people in parts of Hainan, Guangdong, Fujian and Taiwan provinces can see partial eclipse around 12:30 pm, according to the Beijing Planetarium.

This eclipse will sweep across the Indian Ocean and Oceania, ending in the Pacific Ocean. The whole process will feature annular eclipse and total eclipse.

A total solar eclipse happens when the sun, moon and earth align.
