Singing has always been my true love

I was born blind. I like to pay attention to anything that makes a sound, such as animals. I have loved singing since I was young, and I used to sing in a bar.

At 19, I took part in a singing contest. It was the first time I had been on a stage and sung through a microphone. I was so happy because I had always dreamed of singing on stage, and I was the only disabled person in the competition.

In addition to band rehearsals and concerts, I teach blind people how to use computers with a keyboard but no mouse. I also tune pianos. I became very interested in piano tuning after I heard about it from a friend, so I studied the skill in Beijing for three years.

In my spare time, I like to record songs at home. I use software to process the audio.

I also like reading books in Braille at home. I learned Braille when I was young and have acquired a lot of knowledge this way. It was my enlightenment. It's a pity that so few product instructions are available in Braille.

The major difficulty in life is travel, because there actually are "barriers" in some places with barrier-free access. For example, someone might park in a blind lane, which is a really sad thing.

Also, it takes most people two or three seconds to scan a QR code with a phone, but blind people need a few more minutes.

However, there are some apps with designs that are user-friendly for visually impaired people.

For example, when logging in, some apps require users to verify that they are real by sliding squares to complete a puzzle, which is difficult for us, but others automatically bypass the verification stage after several seconds when they detect screen-reading software on the phone.
