chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2023-05-08 16:03

The Chinese martial art of kung fu is gaining popularity quickly in Kenya, as more and more young people are training in the practice.

Ngaruiya Njonge from Kangoya village in Kiambu county, has been training young children for free.

Njonge received support in this endeavor from the local government, establishing kung fu clubs in 23 primary public schools within the county where he trains about 4,000 pupils. He is the chairman of the Kenya Kung Fu Wushu Federation and looks forward to someday establishing a kung fu school similar to the famed Shaolin Temple.
