Chinese app developers are showcasing their talents at the Swift Student Challenge, a global coding competition for students that is part of Apple's 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference, which ended on Saturday.
Dai Canglong, a student at Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, developed an app which roughly translates as "Pizza Assistant". The app is a game tool specially designed for Genshin Impact, a popular roleplaying game.
Dai, an international economics and trade major, learned how to code during his spare time and developed the app with Apple's "easy-to-use tools".
Apple CEO Tim Cook said: "As a part of China's vibrant iOS developer community, Canglong is helping people to find new ways to improve their lives. By making it simple for anyone to manage their finances, his work can help so many people achieve their goals. Canglong and this amazing new generation of iOS developers around the world are shaping a better future for everyone, and we can’t wait to see what he does next."
