As tea can be harvested during three seasons - spring, summer and autumn - in Wuzhishan, almost every household in the village grows tea.

By connecting villagers with tea enterprises and cooperatives, as well as providing villagers with training on tea cultivation, picking, processing and tea art, the local government has seen an expanding scale of tea planting, an increasing output of tea leaves and a growing sales volume of tea products, Wang said.

Last year, the total tea planting area in Maona village reached 120 hectares and selling tea products brought an average income of 10,000 yuan ($1380) to each household of the village, she said.
