Six people were killed during a landslide in Wanzhou district, in southwest China's Chongqing on Friday night.

Due to excessive rainfall, a house was buried in a landslide at Fenshui county which killed six people inside, according to local authorities.

The rescue team rushed to the scene immediately after the accident and the search work has since finished.

According to Wanzhou Earthquake Relief, and Geological Disaster Prevention and Rescue Headquarters, recent heavy rainfall has superimposed several rounds, and the water content of rock and soil is in a saturated state. So geological disasters such as collapses, landslides, and debris flows are extremely prone to occur.

The local government launched a geological disaster level IV emergency response at 7:30 am on Friday.
