Air China said on Tuesday that its Monday flight CA1524 from Shanghai to Beijing aboard an A330-300 aircraft ran into unexpected clear-air turbulence, as a result of which one passenger and a flight attendant were injured.

Both the flight crew and the cabin crew followed procedures and took all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers.

The statement was issued to counter claims made by numerous internet users that the flight encountered significant turbulence resulting in multiple injuries.

Air China confirmed that only one passenger and one crew member were injured and that when Flight CA1524 landed safely at 17:18, it immediately dispatched dedicated personnel to accompany them to hospital. Air China expressed their concern and condolences and vowed to continue to prioritize safety and provide excellent service.
