Seniors dancers deliver famed ballet to warm audiences

The audience at the Wuhan Qintai Grand Theatre in Wuhan, Hubei province, rewarded the amazing older dancers of the Wuhan Fanghua Ballet Troupe with thunderous applause on July 3 after a performance of The White Hair Girl.

More than 100 audience members presented flowers to the dancers, whose average age was 62.

Founded in 2018 by 67-year-old Wei Jinfeng and her husband, Zhang Weiwei, the troupe has grown to 68 members, most of whom are over 60. The eldest is 74.
