US 911 call centers facing widespread staffing shortages

Many 911 emergency call centers in the US are understaffed due to heavy workloads and low pay, according to a new survey released Tuesday by the National Emergency Number Association. The shortage could deplete the remaining staff at 911 call centers, cutting additional services or making callers wait longer.
