A total of 200 students graduated from the Tibet College of Buddhism in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region this summer, and its annual graduation ceremony was held at the college on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by monks and nuns of the college, as well as officials from the regional government and the Tibet Branch of the China Buddhism Association.

Graduates are monks and nuns from Tibetan Buddhism monasteries mainly from the region who enrolled in 2019 and 2021. They studied various sutra and tantra teachings, as well as secular courses such as history, politics, Chinese, computer science and English.

Ngakwang Champa, a monk graduate from Drongthang Monastery in the region's Palbar county, began his study in 2019. "I am pleased and honored to have studied in this college over the years," he said. "I had a great opportunity to learn in a good environment provided by the government. I will continue to study hard after returning to my monastery as our masters have entrusted."

Founded in 2011, the college has grown into a high-quality comprehensive institution of Tibetan Buddhism combining modern education with traditional monastic teaching styles.
