Typhoon Doksuri hits land; threat level reduced

Train services on railway lines between Shenzhen, Guangdong province, and Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, resumed at noon on Friday after Typhoon Doksuri made landfall in neighboring Fujian province.

Up to 52 trains along the Shenzhen-Hangzhou line resumed service, all of which were running within Guangdong, according to China Railway Guangzhou Group, the operator.

Additionally, two more trains will resume on the Guangzhou-Hong Kong-Shenzhen high-speed line, it said.

Doksuri, the fifth typhoon this year, made landfall in Jinjiang, Fujian, on Friday morning, bringing winds of up to 180 kilometers per hour near its center, according to the Fujian provincial meteorological bureau.

After the typhoon made landfall, the Guangdong Provincial Flood and Drought Control Headquarters downgraded the emergency response from level II to level IV.
