In Hebei, delivery services suspended, modified

Logistics parks, transfer centers and express delivery outlets in Zhuozhou, Hebei province, have been affected by floods after days of downpours brought by Typhoon Doksuri, news outlet Jiemian reported on Wednesday.

Delivery services have been suspended as staff members have been evacuated. Many customers may be unable to receive their packages on schedule.

The Jingnan Transfer center of ZTO Express in Zhuozhou has been flooded, ZTO told Jiemian, adding that all staff members at the center have been evacuated and information on property losses in shipments is still being collected.

Express packages at the center came from regions across the country and most will be delivered in the direction of Beijing. The center has adjusted its operating modes and transit routes to optimize smooth delivery channels.

SF Express set up a work group in response to flooding in the city and arranged to be staffed 24 hours a day.

The work group is in charge of timely monitoring of the abnormal situation, releasing weather reports and key information, such as reservoir flooding and road congestion, which can help in early response and follow up measures to ensure the safety of the site and personnel.

According to the person in charge of logistics for JD, the company had planned transfer routes and booked hotels for their employees after a red alert for flooding was issued.

It also prepared various supplies such as drinking water, food, clothing and medicine to provide logistical support for first-line delivery workers.

According to the local government, from 8 am on Saturday to 11 am on Tuesday, precipitation in the city reached 355.1 millimeters.

According to CCTV News, more than 100,000 residents of Zhuozhou have been evacuated.
