Investigation launched into Shaanxi coal mine explosion

The Work Safety Commission of the State Council, China's cabinet, has launched an investigation into a major gas explosion at a coal mine in Yan'an, Shaanxi province on Aug 21, which led to the death of 11 people and 11 injuries.
According to a notice published at the website of the Ministry of Emergency Management on Tuesday, the office has asked the Shaanxi Provincial Government to cooperate with the investigation and discover the cause as soon as possible.
After the investigation, the Shaanxi government should submit an investigation report to the office which includes rectification measures and will be published to the public after review.
The coal mine was founded in 2009 and started operation in 2020. Its annual production capacity is 300,000 metric tons.
