A 7-day Chinese Film Week took place in Hobart, Tasmania from Sept 1-7, hosted by the Consulate-General of China in Melbourne.

Acting Consul General Jianhua Zeng, Australian Department of Education Children and Young People Associate Director of Tasmania Office Mr. Clark, Hobart City Councilor Dr. Sherlock, and over 80 deputies and officials from a wide range of sector attended this film week's opening ceremony.

"We see an event like this as an important cultural exchange, with the aim of strengthening the bonds between the people of Tasmania and China. This event has been immensely successful in the past, drawing over 1,000 Tasmanians to theaters, eager to immerse themselves in these cinematic treasures. It's not only an opportunity for the local Chinese community to reconnect with their homeland but also for the wider Australian community to gain insight into the Chinese film industry," Zeng stress in his speech.
