In late September, one tropical cyclone landfall is expected to heavily affect southern or southeastern coast of China and the China Meteorological Administration warned of heavy rain, wind and storm surge caused by the typhoon.

The cyclone's path will be complex with its major force moving westward and northwestward, the administration said at a news conference on Tuesday.

Typhoon Haikui made two landfalls in China on Tuesday morning, after initially hitting Taiwan on Monday. On Tuesday, the storm first made landfall in Dongshan county, Fujian province, at around 5:20 am, and then again in Raoping county, Guangdong province, at around 6:45 am.

Due to the impact of the typhoon, heavy rainfalls and floods were reported in Fujian and Guangdong on Monday.
