Tony-award winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown's musical The Last Five Years, will be performed at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing from Nov 15 to 19, with seven shows.
It is the first time the musical will be staged in the capital.
The emotionally powerful, intimate production is about two New Yorkers in their 20s — Cathy, a struggling actress, and Jamie, a successful writer — who fall in and out of love over the course of five years.
Premiered in 2001, it was inspired by Brown's own failed first marriage and won a number of awards, including the Drama Desk Award for lyrics and music, and the Off-West End Award.
