Shi Xinqi, 23, has been a part-time photographer since she graduated from college in June. Now, she makes more money by taking pictures than she does in her full-time job working in the medical device industry.

She lives in Xiamen, Fujian province, a popular tourism city, where there is huge demand for pictures from travelers.

Unlike professional photographers, Shi uses her cellphone or an ordinary camera to take pictures in a style that is natural and down-to-earth.

She charges 117 yuan ($16) per hour for taking picture of one person and 176 yuan per hour for two people.

"I like photography and I have been taking pictures since middle school, so I am more skilled in helping my clients to find a better pose or make the right gesture," she said.

Her style has attracted many customers, and all her spare time is fully booked.

Taking pictures for tourists is more like traveling with friends, so the companionship matters, she said.

Most of her clients are young women, so she also offers them travel advice and food not to be missed.

"We are more like friends," she said. "They also bring me lots of happiness."
