Halma, a United Kingdom-based life safety technologies company, officially opened its Asia Pacific Integrated Production and R&D Center in Shanghai on Sept 8.
According to the company, the opening of the center reflects its intention to increase investments in China and accelerate its development in the Asia Pacific.
Located in Xinzhuang Industrial Park in Minhang district, the center spans 11,000 square meters and houses 15 of Halma's subsidiaries that are related to the fields of safety, environment and analysis, and medical health.
The center will help boost the group's innovation efforts within China and strengthen collaborations among the subsidiaries, said Halma.
In the fiscal year 2023, the Asia Pacific region accounted for 15 percent of the group's total revenue, with China accounting for nearly half of that.
"As the important strategic markets and long-term growth engines of our group, China and the Asia Pacific region have always been our focus for development. We hope to work together with our subsidiaries in the country to achieve our vision of contributing to the country's initiatives, including the Green China, Healthy China, and Digital China initiatives," said Aldous Wong, president of Halma Asia Pacific.
