United Kingdom businesses got some useful suggestions on Tuesday on how to access and succeed in the Chinese market.
The advice, which was shared during a panel event in London organized by the UK accountancy firm Gerald Edelman, came from business leaders involved in advisory and service-delivery organizations focused on promoting Sino-British economic engagement.
Four representatives from local governmental investment promotion agencies from Hong Kong, Qingdao, Shenzhen, and Shanghai were also present and shared information about the supporting services available, as suggestions on sales and marketing strategies.
Wu Rilong, chief representative from the Qingdao Center for Business and Commerce in the UK, said Chinese local governments pay a lot of attention to foreign investment, in alignment with the country's economic strategies and that a detailed response would be offered to businesses, as long as mutual benefits can be achieved.
According to the 2022 foreign investment guide released by China's Ministry of Commerce, since the beginning of reform and opening-up, dedicated sub-national agencies have been established in most of China's provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and major cities, alongside national-level organizations, with the aim of developing a fully-fledged foreign investment promotion system.
