The 14th China-Mongolia Media Forum kicked off on Monday in Ulaanqab city, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, bringing together more than 150 representatives from media outlets of both countries.

The forum, co-hosted by the All-China Journalists Association and the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, and organized by the Information Office of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional People's Government, ran under the theme "The Power of Media: Modernization and Common Development".

Over the course of the event, 14 speakers presented on various topics, and the representatives from both countries' journalist associations renewed their agreement on news exchange and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

Liu Siyang, vice-chairman of the All-China Journalists Association, said this year marks the 10th anniversary of the BRI. In the past decade, China and Mongolia have maintained mutual respect, pursued common development, and realized significant achievements through regular high-level interactions and continuous people-to-people exchanges.

Liu expressed a desire for the media in both countries to play an increasingly positive role in spurring modern development, fostering friendly cooperation between China and Mongolia, and facilitating mutual benefit for both nations and their citizens.

Otgonbaatar U, president of the Confederation of Mongolian Journalists, said China and Mongolia, being friendly neighbors connected by rivers and mountains, have seen progressive growth in their media collaboration each year, which has subsequently deepened their friendship. He hopes that this forum will further strengthen practical cooperation in various sectors, thereby positively contributing to the development of friendly ties.

Since its establishment in 2010, the China-Mongolia Media Forum has become an important platform for exchange and cooperation, as well as a bridge for promoting mutual understanding between the two peoples.
