US political divides on aid to Ukraine intensifies

At the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, US President Joe Biden stressed his support for Ukraine, saying, "Russia alone that stands in the way of peace." So far, however, the US has provided four rounds of aid to Ukraine totaling about $113 billion. According to the Council on Foreign Relations, military aid accounts for 61 percent of US aid to Ukraine. The divide between the Democratic and Republican parties in the US on the issue of aid to Ukraine are intensifying. Democrats hope to continue to increase aid to Ukraine, while many Republicans oppose it.
