Public security authorities in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and Kunming, Yunnan province, issued wanted notices on Thursday for two suspected telecom fraud ringleaders and are offering rewards ranging from 100,000 yuan ($13,700) to 500,000 yuan.
Police allege that Chen Yanban (also known as Bao Yanban) and Xiao Yankuai (also known as He Chuntian) are the ringleaders of gangs in northern Myanmar.
The two have been running telecom fraud rings that have been specifically targeting Chinese citizens, the notices said, adding that their activities have resulted in significant financial losses and are extremely malicious in nature.
Police said they have obtained a substantial amount of evidence of the suspects' crimes and are urging them to turn themselves in.
The public is encouraged to report any information that can assist in the apprehension of these suspects. Those who provide valuable leads will be eligible for rewards ranging from 100,000 to 500,000 yuan.
