Editor's note: As the Israel-Palestine conflict enters its 20th day, the number of people killed in Gaza increased to 7,028, including 2,913 children, and more than 1,400 people in Israel have lost their lives. Unfortunately, there is still no ceasefire in sight. Urgently calling for a ceasefire, readers believe that a peaceful, lasting two-state solution is crucial to ending the conflict and establishing security and stability for the entire region.

I am devastated for what innocent people are enduring. Hamas's attacks on Israelis should be condemned and so should Israel's indiscriminate attacks on the Palestinians. I've always wondered how the Israeli government could do to Palestinians what was done to the Israelis. How can they, especially after enduring what they endured, subject Palestinians to the same? Killing innocent lives and treating it as a collateral damage was never justifiable.
