A leading Chinese law firm is expanding its reach to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the Republic of Korea and Japan, aiming to help resolve disputes involving the countries and further internationalize its legal services.

Jingsh Law Firm, one of the largest law firms in China, announced the expansion in a statement last week, with offices planned to open in all three countries next year.

Jin Shisheng, an equity partner at Jingsh, said on Thursday that the firm's decision to expand to these neighboring Asian countries is based on China's advantages of geographical proximity and cultural exchanges, which provide a strong foundation for strengthening cooperation in various areas.

"We are currently in the process of selecting suitable locations for our offices in each country and actively recruiting qualified lawyers to join our team there," Jin added.

While acknowledging concerns over investing in the DPRK, Jin emphasized that the firm will strictly adhere to the country's relevant policies and work diligently to ensure the stability and safety of Chinese investments in the region.

According to the online statement, Jingsh's legal services in the three countries will primarily focus on investment, trade disputes, and intellectual property matters. The firm will also provide legal support for Chinese citizens involved in litigation in these countries.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Beijing, Jingsh has established several overseas offices, including in Germany, Canada, and the United States. The firm provides legal services to clients from both China and abroad.
