China stands ready to work with Russia to develop bilateral ties in a steadfast manner to provide more stability and positive energy for the world, President Xi Jinping said, calling on the countries' ruling parties to enhance exchanges.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks in a congratulatory letter to the 10th meeting of the dialogue mechanism between the ruling parties of China and Russia, which was held via video link on Monday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin also sent a congratulatory letter to the meeting.
Expressing his warm congratulations on the meeting's opening, Xi said that changes unseen in a century are accelerating in the world, which has entered a new phase of turbulence and transformation.
China-Russia ties, which have withstood serious tests by continuing to develop at a high level, have become a model for a new type of relations between major countries, Xi said, adding that bilateral ties are demonstrating ever greater strategic value for the world's stability and development.
Noting that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Xi said that China hopes to work with Russia to develop ties featuring permanent good-neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Xi also pointed out that exchanges and cooperation between the CPC and United Russia, Russia's ruling party, form an important part of China-Russia ties in the new era.
The dialogue mechanism between the two countries' ruling parties has become a special channel and platform for the two countries to consolidate political mutual trust, conduct strategic coordination more closely and promote mutually beneficial cooperation, Xi said.
Xi said he hoped that the CPC and United Russia would take Monday's meeting as an opportunity to enrich exchanges and contribute more to China-Russia relations, fairness and justice in the world, and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Putin said the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries is at the highest level in history.
The two countries are working together to press ahead with major cooperation projects in areas such as the economy, transportation, energy and people-to-people exchanges, Putin said, adding that they are coordinating their positions through bilateral and multilateral channels to address major international issues.
United Russia and the CPC have maintained high-level and constructive interactions, which have promoted the rapid development of bilateral cooperation in various fields, Putin said.
