Rescuers have found the bodies of all the seven workers that fell into freshly poured concrete in Linfen, Shanxi province, according to local authorities.

Local police have taken under custody some company executives claimed to be responsible for the accident.

The accident occurred at around 10:00 pm on Friday during the concreting process for the construction of a huge shed for coal storage in a railway logistics company in Anze county, Linfen, when the scaffolding for the construction collapsed suddenly.

The collapse led to the fall of six workers and one operator of a concrete pump car to the base of the structure, or around 30 meters in height, and left the seven buried beneath concrete that had not yet solidified and where there were rebars.

The increasingly hardened concrete and the risk of further collapse of the scaffolding made the rescue operation extremely challenging, local authorities said.

Rescuers managed to wrap up their work on the site at around 9 am on Sunday, and the seven people were all found dead.

The part of the shed where the accident happened was being built by China Aluminum International Engineering Co Ltd (Tianjin) Construction Co Ltd, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The relevant executives from the companies involved in the accident have been taken under custody, Anze county police said, without mentioning any company names and numbers.

Local authorities said they are still dealing with the aftermath of the accident.
